24 Christmas Digital Products to Sell This Holiday Season (2026)
Oct 29, 2026The best Christmas digital products to sell are items buyers can download instantly and use right away: printable gift tags, Christmas cards, advent calendars, coloring pages, wall art, editable Canva templates, planners, and spreadsheets. Most can be designed in Canva and sold on Etsy or your own website, with no inventory and no shipping. This guide covers 24 ideas, how each one works, and what Etsy's October 2026 AI rules mean if you use AI tools to make them.
Heads up: some links below are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. I only recommend tools I actually use. Gelato and Sale Samurai also sponsored parts of the video this post is based on.
Key takeaways
- There are 24 Christmas product ideas below, grouped into printables, templates and design files, planners and spreadsheets, and ebooks and guides.
- Digital downloads don't ship, so there's no shipping cutoff to miss. New listings still need time to get seen, so list as soon as you can.
- Sets and bundles give buyers more for their money and let you charge more per listing.
- On October 22, 2026, Etsy banned AI-generated recipes, patterns, and instructions. AI-made art is still allowed with disclosure.
- Check search data in a tool like Sale Samurai before you design anything.
It's late October. If you haven't made a single holiday product yet, I see you.
And no, you didn't miss it.
Digital products don't ship, so a buyer hunting for a last-minute gift tag can download it the same minute they buy it.
The hardest part isn't making the product. It's picking one. Among the 86 people in the 2026 Digital Product Sellers Survey who hadn't launched yet, 28% named "I don't know what to sell" as their biggest blocker. It was the most common answer.
That's what this list is for. I made the original video in 2025, and I've updated this post for 2026, including a big Etsy rule change that landed on October 22.
What are the best Christmas printables to sell?
Printables are the simplest place to start. The buyer downloads the file, prints it at home, and they're done.
1. Christmas greeting cards
Sell them as a finished instant download that buyers print as-is, or as an editable template. You can design either one in Canva, and my link gets you a free 30-day Pro trial.
For a template, generate a Canva template link. The buyer opens their own copy in Canva, changes the wording or colors, then downloads and prints it. I walk through the whole process in how to sell Canva templates on Etsy.
2. Gift tags and labels
Before you design anything, search Etsy for similar listings and study the first and second pages of results. Badges like Bestseller are a clue that a listing is selling consistently, though badges come and go.
Take inspiration from what's working, then put your own twist on it. Don't copy anyone's design.
3. Printable letters to and from Santa
Lots of families have kids write to Santa. Create stationery they can print for those letters.
Want to go a step further? Make letters from Santa back to the child that parents can print and hand over.
4. Elf on the Shelf idea lists
Parents are always hunting for fresh, new spots and scenes for their elf. A printable list of ideas saves them the brainstorming.
5. Advent calendar printable sets
Many families build Advent into their Christmas traditions. A set of printables with daily ideas and guides fits right in.
Advent starts on Sunday, November 29, 2026, so this is one to get live soon.
6. Christmas coupon books
Think kids gifting parents coupons for an extra chore or a back rub, or a couples' book with a date night or a shopping trip.
It's a digital file, not a physical book. Sell it as a bundle of printables, or put the designs together in Canva and deliver one PDF.
7. Countdown cards
Create one card per day counting down to Christmas or New Year's, and sell the whole set.
The cards can carry motivational phrases or scripture, elegant designs, or bright colors for kids.
8. Holiday games and activities
People want something fun they can print at home for family and friends. Think a scavenger hunt guide, holiday bingo, or Christmas trivia.
I'm a big fan of bundles, so combine a few games into one listing.
9. Festive coloring pages
Coloring pages are popular with kids and adults. Sell them individually, as a bundle, or as an ebook.
You can use Canva AI to generate outlines and finish the pages in the Canva editor. If you do, disclose it on Etsy (more on that below).
10. Christmas stickers
Digital stickers are a popular product type, and people shop for them around specific seasons and themes. Build sets around a winter, Christmas, or Santa theme.
11. Winter digital paper and patterns
This is paper-style backgrounds and patterns, often used for scrapbooking. They're usually designed at 12 by 12 inches.
Go cartoony for a kid-friendly look or sleek and modern for something more polished. Sell several patterns together as a set.

Which Christmas templates and design files can you sell?
These take a bit more design work, and many are editable. Buyers customize them instead of just printing them.
12. Social media templates
Lots of people want to post during the holidays without designing from scratch. Give them Christmas or New Year's templates where they only change the colors, fonts, and wording.
Offer a bundle of 30 or 60 designs in a few sizes, like an Instagram square, portrait, and story. More sizes make the bundle bigger and let you raise the price.
13. Holiday decor templates and printables
Almost everyone decorates for the holidays. An editable Christmas banner is a good example.
Deliver it as an instant download, or as a Canva template link so the buyer can edit the text and colors first. Signs and posters for holiday events and holiday weddings fit here too.
14. Holiday wall art
The options are wide open. Pick a room, like a living room, nursery, office, or gym, then add festive quotes or winter scenes.
As a digital product, it's an instant download the buyer prints at home or at a print shop. You can also sell it as a physical product with print on demand. More on that below.
15. Christmas SVG bundles
SVG files are graphics people use for Cricut or Silhouette cutting projects. They sell well as bundles built around one holiday theme.
Design them in your favorite graphic design tool, download them as SVG files, and make sure the designs are your own.
16. Custom digital portraits and illustrations
Gift shoppers love personalized portraits of a couple, a family, a pet, or a house. The buyer sends a photo, and you turn it into a watercolor or sketch-style portrait.
You can add a personalized name, date, or location. Look at similar Etsy listings for inspiration, then add your own twist.
Need more than 24 ideas?
I put together a master list of 100+ digital product ideas, and most of them aren't Christmas-specific. They're evergreen products you can sell all year.
What planners and spreadsheets sell during the holidays?
Organized people love the holidays. Tracking gifts, meals, and money gets messy fast, and a good tool fixes that.
17. Holiday planners
Holiday season means a lot of events and plans. A planner can be printable, or built for digital use in an app or in Canva.
Research similar listings on Etsy to see what they include. An AI tool can help you brainstorm what goes inside. If AI helps create the product itself, disclose it in your Etsy listing.
18. Gift-giving planners and checklists
Someone shopping for a lot of people wants one place for gift ideas and what they've already bought. Build it in Canva, or in Google Sheets or Excel.
19. Holiday budget spreadsheets
Holiday spending gets out of hand quickly without a system. Make a spreadsheet in Google Sheets, Excel, or Canva Sheets where buyers enter what they spend and track it their way.
20. Holiday meal prep spreadsheets
Thanksgiving, Christmas, and every gathering in between means a lot of meals. A spreadsheet helps buyers organize the meals, the ingredients they need, and who's doing what.
Keep it a planning tool rather than a recipe collection. Etsy's new rules treat recipes differently (see the AI section below).
Which Christmas ebooks and guides can you sell?
These take more writing, and two of them run straight into Etsy's new rules.
21. Children's Christmas storybooks
Parents want gifts and activities for their kids, and a digital storybook is easy to download and print or read aloud.
You can write it from scratch, or brainstorm topics with an AI tool and make the illustrations in Canva. Assemble the book in Canva and download it as a PDF. If AI helped, disclose it and show real preview pages in your listing.
22. Holiday cookbooks
If you cook and have your own stash of holiday recipes, this one is a great fit.
Heads up: Etsy's October 22 update says recipes must be your own work, not AI-generated, and your listing needs to show a real result. Use your own tested recipes.
23. Holiday gift guides
Sometimes people just don't know what to buy, so they look up gift guides. The more targeted, the better: a gift guide for golfers, teachers, dads, or pet lovers beats a generic one.
24. Seasonal knitting and crafting patterns
Knitting, sewing, and crafting patterns do well on Etsy, and winter or Christmas designs give your listing an extra edge in Q4.
This one is more niche, so you need to know what you're doing. Here's the update: in the video I mentioned ChatGPT for pattern directions. Etsy now bans AI-generated patterns and instructions, so write and test your own, and show a real finished piece in your listing. You can still use AI to research what's trending.
Can you use AI to make Christmas digital products on Etsy in 2026?
Yes, with limits. On October 22, 2026, Etsy tightened its AI rules. Etsy says it will keep allowing AI-generated art when sellers play a clear creative role and are open about how they made it.
Here's what changed in the October 22 update, based on CNBC's coverage and other reports:
- Bot-generated listings are banned. Listings created with no human involvement aren't allowed. You review and publish each listing yourself.
- AI-made recipes, patterns, and instructions are banned. You also need to show an actual item made from the instructions.
- Disclosure is still required. You can't present AI-generated work as handmade or entirely your own creation.
- Digital downloads should show a preview. Show the cover, or a few real pages of what the buyer receives.
Spoiler alert: most of this list is fine. Coloring pages, wall art, planners, and storybooks can still be made with AI help, as long as you play a real creative role and disclose it.
The two ideas to watch are the holiday cookbook (#22) and knitting and crafting patterns (#24). Those need to be your own work.
Etsy can change these rules again, so read the current Etsy Creativity Standards before you publish.
What is print on demand, and can it work for Christmas products?
Some ideas on this list can also become physical products, especially wall art (#14). That's where print on demand comes in.
Here's how it works. You create the design and set it up in your print-on-demand provider's platform, then sync it with your shop. When someone buys, the provider prints, packs, and ships the order straight to your customer.
You pay the base cost of the item and keep whatever profit is left.
No inventory. No packing. No trips to the post office.
The provider I recommend is Gelato. They sell everything from apparel and accessories to home decor, and for wall art you can choose wooden and metal framed posters, posters with hangers, canvas prints, and acrylic prints. It also connects to Etsy and Shopify. (Gelato sponsored this part of the video.)

It's free to start. New sellers get 30% off the product cost of their first sample order when they place it within 48 hours of signing up (the discount maxes out at €50). Gelato doesn't offer free samples, so that first discounted order is how you check the quality yourself.
Physical orders still have to be printed and shipped, so check shipping cutoffs before you promise Christmas delivery.
How do you know which Christmas digital products to sell?
Before you design anything, do some research. Search Etsy for your idea and look at the listings on the first and second pages of results. Check what they include, then plan your own version.
Then use a keyword research tool so your listing matches what people actually search for. One of my favorites for Etsy research is Sale Samurai. (They sponsored this part of the video.) Here's how I use it:
- Enter a phrase that describes your product. You'll see the estimated number of monthly searches on Etsy, the click-through rate, and the Etsy competition.
- Scroll to the trending section for related phrases. Some are worded a little differently from yours and may have better search volume or less competition.
- Check the tags section to see the top tags other sellers in your niche use, along with the search volume for each phrase.

The Chrome extension is handy for quick checks. When you start typing in Etsy's search bar, a small number pops up next to each suggested phrase with its estimated search volume. You never have to open the web tool.

Sale Samurai has a free trial. If you keep it after that, the code KATE20 takes 20% off your monthly subscription.
Quick note: those numbers are estimates. Use them to compare phrases, not to predict sales.

Which Christmas digital products should you list first?
You don't need to make all 24. Pick two or three, finish them, and publish.
Start with anything tied to a date. Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26, and Advent starts Sunday, November 29, so meal prep spreadsheets and advent printables have the shortest window.
Then keep adding. A small set of finished listings beats a long list of half-made ones.
Once your listings are live, people have to find them. I break down four ways to do that in How to Market Digital Products: 4 Strategies That Actually Work. And if you don't have a shop yet, start with my step-by-step Etsy shop setup guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it too late to start selling Christmas digital products?
Not if you move fast. Digital downloads deliver instantly, so a listing can still sell close to Christmas. New listings need time to get found, though, so start with two or three products you can finish this week and publish them as soon as they're ready.
Do I need an Etsy shop to sell Christmas digital products?
No. You can sell digital products on other platforms or your own website. I focus on Etsy in this post because that's where I do my research and where many of these products do well. If you want to start there, my step-by-step Etsy shop setup guide walks you through it.
What's the difference between an instant download and an editable Canva template?
With an instant download, you deliver the finished file and the buyer prints it as-is. With an editable template, you generate a Canva template link, and the buyer opens their own copy in Canva to change the wording, colors, or fonts before downloading and printing it.
What file types do Christmas digital products come in?
It depends on the product. Printables, planners, and ebooks usually go out as PDFs. Editable designs go out as a Canva template link. Spreadsheets can be built in Google Sheets, Excel, or Canva Sheets, and SVG bundles go out as SVG files for Cricut or Silhouette cutting machines.
Can I sell the same Christmas design as a digital download and a physical product?
Yes, for some products. Wall art is the best example. You can sell it as an instant-download printable, or sell physical prints, posters, and canvases through a print-on-demand provider that prints and ships each order for you. Physical orders still have shipping times, so check cutoffs before you promise Christmas delivery.
Can I use AI tools to help make Christmas digital products?
Often, yes. AI tools can help you brainstorm ideas and create things like coloring page outlines and illustrations. On Etsy, you need to disclose AI use, play a real creative role, and avoid presenting AI-generated work as handmade or entirely your own. AI-generated recipes, patterns, and instructions are banned as of October 22, 2026.
How many Christmas products do I need to list?
There's no magic number. Among the 93 sellers in our survey (the 2026 Digital Product Sellers Survey) who had made a sale, 57% made their first sale with 10 or fewer products listed. A small, focused set is a reasonable place to start, so pick a few ideas from this list and do them well before adding more.
